As a Collateral Analyst, Mr. Barcellos leverages his experiences in real property and personal property valuations to assist clients in understanding risk in their operations while matching those risks to the client’s needs to maximize value. Mr. Barcellos focuses on providing excellent customer service to all types of agricultural operations and businesses with a special emphasis on dairies. Working across the western U.S. has allowed Derek to gain diverse expertise in the areas of dairies, permanent planting operations (nuts), row crop operations, feedlots, agribusinesses, and general commercial businesses.

Derek grew up in the Central Valley of California where his family operated a dairy facility and row crop farming operations. Before joining Risk Mitigators & Advisors, he developed his networking and sales skills through opportunities with Agri-King as an Area Manager and Suncrest Bank as a Commercial Bank Manager. Prior to his sales experience, Derek served as Assistant Vice President with Citizens Business Bank Agricultural Appraisal Department located in the Central Valley. During his eight years of collateral valuation experience, he executed inspections for dairy cattle, beef livestock, feed commodities, open irrigated crops, and permanent plantings. In addition to performing budget reviews on dairy and farm operations throughout the western states, Mr. Barcellos completed real estate evaluations for agriculture and commercial properties located in the Central Valley and southern California areas.
